Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2016, Volume 10, Issue 2,   Pages 273-280 doi: 10.1007/s11705-016-1563-5

Abstract: A series of Mn-promoted 15 wt-% Ni/Al O catalysts were prepared by an incipient wetness impregnationThe presence of Mn increased the number of CO adsorption sites and inhibited Ni particle agglomerationdue to improved Ni dispersion and weakened interactions between the nickel species and the support.Mn content was varied from 0.86% to 2.54% and the best CO conversion was achieved with the 1.71Mn-NiThe co-methanation tests on the 1.71Mn-Ni/Al O catalyst indicated that adding Mn markedly enhanced the

Efficient degradation of orange II by ZnMn

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2020, Volume 14, Issue 6,   Pages 956-966 doi: 10.1007/s11705-019-1907-z

Abstract: A ZnMn O catalyst has been synthesized via a sucrose-aided combustion method and characterized by various analytical techniques. It is composed of numerous nanoparticles (15–110 nm) assembled into a porous structure with a specific surface area (SSA) of 19.1 m ·g . Its catalytic activity has been investigated for the degradation of orange II dye using three different systems, i.e., the photocatalysis system with visible light, the chemocatalysis system with bisulfite, and the photo-chemical catalysis system with both visible light and bisulfite. The last system exhibits the maximum degradation efficiency of 90%, much higher than the photocatalysis system (15%) and the chemocatalysis system (67%). The recycling experiments indicate that the ZnMn O catalyst has high stability and reusability and is thus a green and eximious catalyst. Furthermore, the potential degradation mechanisms applicable to the three systems are discussed with relevant theoretical analysis and scavenging experiments for radicals. The active species such as Mn(III), O , h , e , SO and HO are proposed to be responsible for the excellent degradation results in the photo-chemical catalysis system with the ZnMn O catalyst.

Abstract: A dual fuel head poly-generation flowsheet was designed based on coal gas and coke oven gas. To help clearly understand the system performance, a 1.2×10−3.2×10kg methanol and 274―496MW power poly-generation system was simulated by using the commercially available software ASPEN Plus and GT Pro. The technology scheme, the operating parameters, and the efficiency of the system were also analyzed and evaluated, which will be used for building industrial devices.

N2sub>O emission from a sequencing batch reactor for biological N and P removal from wastewater

Lei SHEN,Yuntao GUAN,Guangxue WU,Xinmin ZHAN

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2014, Volume 8, Issue 5,   Pages 776-783 doi: 10.1007/s11783-013-0586-0

Abstract: Nitrous oxide (N O) is a greenhouse gas that can be released during biological nitrogen removal from wastewater. N O emission from a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) for biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal from wastewater was investigated, and the aims were to examine which process, nitrification or denitrification, would contribute more to N O emission and to study the effects of heterotrophic activities on N O emission during nitrification. The results showed that N O emission was mainly attributed to nitrification rather than to denitrification. N O emission during denitrification mainly occurred with stored organic carbon as the electron donor. During nitrification, N O emission was increased with increasing initial ammonium or nitrite concentrations. The ratio of N O emission to the removed ammonium nitrogen (N O-N/NH -N) was 2.5% in the SBR system with high heterotrophic activities, while this ratio was in the range from 0.14% to 1.06% in batch nitrification experiments with limited heterotrophic activities.
